This book offers an overarching theory for the human cognitive biases when it comes to decision-making and forming opinions. Lots of great, real-life examples to demonstrate these biases.
1. System 1 and System 2 drive our thinking: System 1 (fast) is our default system. System 2 (slow) is only called upon when system 1 doesn’t have a ready and quick answer and an “escalation” is needed.
2. Most of the time, System 2 will go along with what System 1 dictates.
3. Therefore it is super important to be aware of our "fast-thinking" brain and what forms our intuitions and instincts as that is where we find bias, whether it is conscious or unconscious.
